International Conference on Metaheuristics and Nature Inspired Computing
October 27-31, 2012 – Port El-Kantaoiui, Sousse, Tunisia
Bioinformatics represents a great challenge for optimization methods and many bioinformatics problems can be modelized as large size optimization problems. For example, many bioinformatics problems deal with the manipulation of large sets of variables (SNPs, genes, GWA, proteins …). In this special session we are particular interested in metaheuristics to solve bioinformatics-optimizations problems.

Le PPF Bio-informatique de l’Université Lille 1, associé à Renabi-Lille, propose une formation à la programmation et l’utilisation des processeurs multicoeurs, notamment GPU, dans le monde de la bio-informatique. Cette formation a pour objectif de présenter les concepts et outils nécessaires à l’exploitation de programmes GPU existants, ainsi que d’apporter les bases de la programmation GPU en OpenCL.

ALPHY is an annual meeting, organized in France since 1995, dedicated to
the field of Bioinformatics and Comparative Genomics (ALPHY = ALignments
and PHYlogeny). The main goal of this meeting is to promote informal
communication in this highly multidisciplinary field, and to encourage
young scientists to present their work.

La prochaine réunion du groupe ARENA (Bioinformatique des ARNnc) se déroulera en février 2012, les 20-21-22 février dans la région toulousaine. Ces journées sont soutenues financièrement par le GDR BIM, ReNaBi, l’INRA et le projet ANR AMIS-ARN.
L’objectif principal de ces journées est de maintenir en France une communauté pluridisciplinaire, en partageant sur les besoins et les développements autour des problématiques bioinformatiques liées à l’étude des ARN non codant.

Le GdR 3003 « Bio-Informatique Moléculaire » organise tous les deux ans ses journées scientifiques.
La 3ème édition de ces journées aura lieu les 19 et 20 janvier 2012 à l’ENS de Paris, 45 rue d’Ulm (salle Dussane).

ALPHY is an annual meeting, organized in France since 1995, dedicated to
the field of Bioinformatics and Comparative Genomics (ALPHY = ALignments
and PHYlogeny). The main goal of this meeting is to promote informal
communication in this highly multidisciplinary field, and to encourage
young scientists to present their work.
This year, ALPHY is co-organized by Spanish and French scientists, in the
nice city of Banyuls, with the hope of enhancing scientific exchanges
between research groups of these two countries - and beyond. There will be
two invited speakers (Henrik Kaessmann and Jose Castresana), and the
program will be open for 25 to 30 contributions of 20’ talks, plus possibly
posters.
Registration to the meeting is free, but mandatory. Please use the link
below to register. The maximum number of attendees is 120 (first come first
served). If you wish to present your work, please submit an abstract in the
registration form. Some budget will be available for
supporting the travel expenses of young speakers. Please indicate whether
you are asking for such a travel grant when registering.

Le 7 décembre se tiendra à l’Institut Pasteur de Lille une journée thématique sur l’analyse bio-informatique des données de séquençage haut-débit, avec un accent particulier sur le transcriptome: RNA-seq, métatranscriptomique, recherche d’ARN non-codants.
